Supervisor, Traffic Signals - R14711
Description
Juvenile Probation Mission:
In cooperation with the community, Juvenile Probation will protect public safety by reducing the incidence and impact of delinquency by youth on probation, while being responsive to their welfare and needs.
The person selected for this position will provide data and information needs for the Juvenile Probation Division within the Department of Community Corrections (DOCC). The person selected for this position will be key in ensuring that accurate and useful data is available to DOCC decision makers and other key stakeholders of the Juvenile Justice system.
Juvenile Probation staff work with juveniles and their families to help youth complete the orders of the Juvenile Court and return to law abiding behavior. This is done by using a standardized assessment to identify the level of risk for re-offending presented by each youth assessed. This risk assessment identifies the domains that contribute most to the level of risk presented and provides Probation Officers with the information they need to provide the appropriate level of supervision and to target areas of intervention that are most likely to have the greatest impact on the reduction of risk.
Juvenile Probation staff will be utilizing evidence based practices to develop programs that will aid our clients in making positive choices and improve future behaviors. Essential to implementing evidence based practices is access to accurate and useful data.
The person selected for this position will have an office at the Juvenile Justice Center, 626 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN. In 2007 this office will be moving to the Health Services Building, 525 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN.
