At The Florida Center for Early Childhood, our developmental therapy program services are provided by Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists. Our team of professionals along with agency teachers, teacher assistants, and mental health counselors work as a team to ensure children, ages birth to 10 years of age, are achieving functional outcomes that support their growth and development. Principle Duties Include: Upon referral, complete a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the client (at least annually) to determine the degree of deficits. Develop a “Plan of Care” by documenting goals/objectives pertinent to the client’s individual needs Implement the treatment program utilizing the appropriate therapeutic techniques based on current research, data and/or therapeutic models. Conditionally monitor with ongoing assessment the treatment outcomes and revise treatment programs according to client’s performance. Achieve productivity standards set forth in documented agency guidelines Maintain paperwork pertinent to client treatment: Initial Evaluation and Plan of Care completed within 5 business days. Annual re-evaluations; or more frequent reporting of progress as required by third-party payers. Daily progress notes completed within 2 business days. Prepare for quarterly report of progress for Developmental Therapy Program reporting of outcome data. Participate and prepare for School District Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Early Steps Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP) meetings. Work closely with Intake Coordinator to monitor therapy authorizations to ensure continuity of care Update “Plan of Care” as needed. Consult with The Florida Center for Early Childhood’s staff and other agencies involved with client. Report any problems with department equipment to ensure that it is maintained in good working order. Advocate for the client. Participate in community outreach activities, including child care staff training, community education and developmental screening upon request of supervisor. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) & State Licensure Valid Florida state license in Speech/Language Pathology. ASHA Certification Minimum of 2 years pediatric experience post Master’s degree. Exceptions can be made depending on experience and qualifications of current staff. Clinical Fellow seeking certification by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association may also be considered for employment.
