Description
The CRNA provides the quality and quantity of Anesthesia and/or Analgesia as is deemed appropriate for assigned surgical and/or clinical procedures.

Responsibilities
Based upon the collection of relevant clinical information, formulates or follows an anesthesia-care plan in collaboration with the anesthesiologist and/or surgeon.Administers modern agents and techniques of anesthesia to render patients insensible to pain during surgical and/or clinical procedures.Supports life function during the period in which the anesthesia is administered, including induction of intubation procedure.Recognizes and takes appropriate corrective action for abnormal patient response during anesthesia care. Confers with anesthesiologist and surgeon when appropriate.Maintain standards of safety for self, patient and colleagues.Provide for safety of the patient during Anesthesia and remain with the patient until his care can be safely entrusted to other personnel.Attend and/or participate in Continuing Education programs in order to maintain certification by AANAAttend all mandatory in-services according to hospital policyAttend monthly intra-department meetingsPerforms other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing. Graduation from AANA Accredited School of Nurse AnesthesiaRequired Certification & Licensures: Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse. Certification by AANA or eligibility for certification. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and Nurse Practitioner. ACLS Certification. CPR certification
