Sewing Trainee
The Company:
HF Custom (formerly Sam Moore), a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation is looking for a Sewing Trainee to join their team in our Bedford, VA plant.
Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets.

The Position:
We are looking for a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join our sewing team as a trainee. This individual will:
•
Learn to sort denim and other fabric
•
Assist with surging kick pleats
•
Practice sewing skirt parts together, bagging, and tagging the skirts
•
Train on how to use an industrial sewing machine to sew fabric pieces together
Candidates that will be a great fit will:
•
Have an interest in learning industrial sewing skills
•
Be comfortable working seated 8–9 hours a day and independently
•
Be open to learning how to read sewing “blueprints” and diagrams
•
Have a strong attention to detail and a desire to learn high-quality sewing techniques
