Patient Services Representative - Laboratory
Job Summary
• Responsible for patient registration, scheduling, customer service and clerical support.
• Accepts, records and verifies insurance information, processes preauthorization requests, collects copays and account balance payments, scans documents into EMR and other administrative tasks related to the efficient operations of the department.
• Ensures contact with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers and physicians are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner.

Reading Hospital's Laboratory is CAP accredited offering specialized testing, lab automation, and state of the art equipment. The lab offers cross training opportunities and the opportunity to be part of cross-function process improvement teams. In Fiscal Year 2023, the lab performed 8.5 million tests (including Chemistry, Cytology, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Coagulation, Histology, Microbiology, Point of Care Testing, Transfusion Services and Urinalysis), 122,751 Anatomical Pathology tests, and 404,139 combined inpatient & outpatient phlebotomy draws. The department consists of over 200 medical laboratory professionals.
