Job Summary
The Music Therapist adheres to the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) scope of practice and competencies and applies the therapy process in pediatric and adult sessions, and in collaboration with the inter-professional care team, will design musical interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve patients psychological, physical, and social health. The Music Therapist will provide music therapy sessions at the bedside inviting clients to interact working towards established goals of care. The music therapist also monitors clients during musical interventions and measures the effectiveness of sessions.
Required Qualifications
• Require a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, Master's preferred.
• Require Music Therapist- Board Certified (MT-BC) certification by the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT).
• Require a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Music Therapy, preferably in an inpatient/acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prefer specialty certification such as Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) certificate and/or Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapy (HPMT) certificate.
Monday through Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm. You will mostly be at the main Sarasota Campus, however may have to work at the Venice campus as well, occasional weekend shifts.
