Description
Responsible for working independently to deliver and remove materials/product to the finishing lines. Material Handlers can be assigned to any line if necessary for production requirements.
Prepares work area for the shift.
Uses bill of materials and process operation sheets to determine materials needed for each production run.
Notifies Warehouse Supervisor for any Material Handling issues.
Moves material to and from the manufacturing area.
Loads and unloads trailers.
May pick orders when necessary.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Must be forklift certified.
Must be able to learn mechanical operations within the department.
Must maintain a pace to complete production requirements.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Other reporting and duties as assigned.
Requirements
Able to maintain an adequate pace to complete production requirements.
Must be able to read bill of materials and process operation sheets.
Must be forklift certified.
Must be able to follow directions.
Must be able to work the assigned schedule and work in a self-directed work group.
Must be able to perform basic math operations.
Should have good eye and hand coordination.
Must be quality conscious.
Must follow the environmental program and all safety rules.
Must be capable of lifting 50#.
Must be consistently at work and on time.
Must be able to work overtime on short notice.
Able to work in a changing environment; must be able to promote suggestions to assist in the creation of an efficient workflow.
Accountability for performance.
High school diploma or GED
