People helping People has the been the focus of Senior Friendship Centers for over 50 years, and we are growing! We are looking for a dynamic Friendship at Home Coordinator! The Friendship at Home Coordinator assists with the Friendship at Home program by maintaining and growing a network of community resources for programs including: Friendly Visitor, Telephone Reassurance, Supportive Intervention, EHEAP, and other related grant funded programs. This position will coordinate and train volunteers for the Friendship at Home program.
The successful applicant will be a detail-oriented person with strong listening skills who is able to think strategically. The position requires the ability to communicate with a friendly demeanor with people who may be in an upsetting situation. Experience working with volunteers or teaching is helpful, but not required.
The mission of the Senior Friendship Centers is to build vibrant communities by advancing wellness, connection, and enrichment throughout the journey of aging. Older adults throughout four counties in Southwest Florida rely on Senior Friendship Centers for help with nutrition, adult day services, social engagement, education, help in times of crisis, and so much more.
This is a part-time position, working around 25 hours/week. This part-time position comes with benefits including a 403b with an employer match, generous PTO, and paid holidays!
Essential Functions
Operational
• Assist local seniors to help them resolve immediate issues and assist them in finding support to help prevent further problems.
• Maintain documentation of all grant funding request; assure appropriate authorization, distribution and processing.
• Input client information into database system in a timely manner.
• Keep client files and assure accurate and timely documentation, including monthly reports.
• Process EHEAP referrals, assuring proper documentation and data entry.
• Recruit, interview, provide orientation and training for volunteers, conduct volunteer surveys.
• Maintain records of volunteer’s hours worked, match volunteer with clients for Friendly Visitor, Telephone Reassurance Callers and Supportive Interventions as needed, and may include home safety assessments.
• Organize and maintain a current list of community resources for seniors.
• Coordinate resources with the Elder Helpline Staff, provide outreach in the community.
• Remain current on all Department of Elder Affairs and all grant program guidelines, including attendance at training programs.
• Participate in fundraising and outreach activities, including presentations and community meetings, to promote the organization’s mission.
• Report any incident of abuse or neglect as mandated by state guideline.
• Must comply with HIPAA regulations and OSHA laws and safety guidelines.
Organizational
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and seminars as required.
• Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.
• Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization’s safety and incident policies.

Education, Experience, Licenses, And Certifications
• High School Diploma/GED or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides requisite knowledge, ability and skills to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Intermediate computer skills are required and include use of Microsoft Office Suite and data management.
Physical Demands
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and prolonged periods standing.
• Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
• Must be able to independently access various departments of a given location.

• Must have reliable transportation. Use of personal car for evaluations may be required.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid FL driver’s license for all work-related travel.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
• Satisfactory clearance of a fingerprint based, level II background screening and pre-employment substance abuse testing is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
