The duties and responsibilities of an associate attorney include the following:
• Client Consultation : Meet with clients to understand their legal needs, assess their cases, and provide legal advice.
• Case Research and Analysis : Conduct legal research, analyze case law, statutes, and regulations to develop case strategies.
• Drafting Legal Documents : Prepare legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests.
• Representing Clients : Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and court appearances, advocating on their behalf.
• Legal Writing : Draft correspondence, legal memoranda, and reports to support client cases.
• Case Strategy Development : Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop effective strategies and solutions for client cases.
• Client Communication : Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case progress and answering questions.
• Discovery : Assist with discovery processes, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions.
• Contract Review and Negotiation : Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and settlement agreements for clients.
• Litigation Support : Support litigation efforts by preparing witnesses, organizing exhibits, and assisting with trial preparation.
• Managing Caseload : Handle a variety of legal matters and manage multiple cases at once, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed efficiently.
• Administrative Support : Assist with filing documents, maintaining case files, and managing legal correspondence and documentation.
• Client Billing : Track and report billable hours
• Collaboration : Work with other attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure smooth case management and operations.
• Continuing Education : Stay current with legal trends, changes in the law, and attend relevant continuing legal education (CLE) courses.
• Court Appearances : Represent clients in court, presenting arguments, cross-examining witnesses, and handling procedural aspects of cases.
• Settlement Negotiation : Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel to resolve disputes without going to trial.
• Risk Management : Identify potential legal risks for clients and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Ethical Compliance : Ensure compliance with professional conduct rules and ethical standards in all legal matters.
Qualifications:
· JD Degree from an ABA Accredited Law School
· Pennsylvania Bar Admittance or sitting for the July 2025 Pennsylvania Bar Examination
· 1-5 Years of experience in Family Law preferred.
