Customer Service Representative
Requirements
The individual who functions in this position must carry out all the functions associated with being a Customer Service Representative. This position encompasses responsibility for developing and maintaining positive customer relations. The individual in this position sells appropriate products, provides service and seeks solutions to customer requirements. To qualify as a Customer Service Representative an individual must be able to perform the following:
Obtain all necessary information and accurately calculate pricing, costing and job estimating to prepare a prompt quotation for all customer inquiries.
• Negotiate, within prescribed limits, to secure orders and obtain competitive information whenever possible.
• Complete, accurately and promptly, the formal order form with special attention to product specification
• Seek a solution to all customer complaints while maintaining good customer relations.
• Obtain and update a solid working knowledge of our manufacturing capacity and our products' applications.
• Periodically research job files to maintain cost and shop scheduling parameters.
• Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those when reassigned or transferred and regardless of whether duties are related to his/her normal duties.
• Follow up on customer inquiries and status of quotes.
• Work with all Hendrick employees to aid in customer response.
Education
Minimum of two years of college with a concentration of courses in business or equivalent work experience. A bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent is preferred.
Skills
Requires mathematical computation skills.
Requires strong computer skills including AutoCAD
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints
Requires strong telephone communication skills.
Requires good command of English language and proper grammar.
Requires ability to persuade and negotiate
Strong interpersonal skills
Knowledge
Working knowledge of data entry.
Working knowledge of telephone sales techniques.
Working knowledge of general office procedures.
Experience
1-2 Years in a sales environment with direct telephone customer contact
Minimum of l year in an industrial environment.
