Reading Bakery Systems is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of industrial bakery equipment. We are seeking a skilled Welder / Oven Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves interpreting engineering drawings, preparing and welding components, and assembling industrial ovens and related systems to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Interpret assembly drawings and bills of materials to identify parts and their function within machinery
• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on stainless steel and other materials
• Assemble components using hand and power tools, ensuring precision alignment and secure connections
• Operate weld cleaning equipment and inspect work using precision measuring tools
• Fit, adjust, and align mechanical components according to design tolerances
• Assist in machine testing and adjustments to meet operational specifications
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area
• Complete and maintain production and quality control records
• Collaborate with supervisors, coordinators, and engineers to ensure efficient workflow

Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial assembly experience, with 2 years in welding or bakery equipment preferred
• Ability to read engineering drawings, weld symbols, and precise measurements
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
• Ability to measure to less than 0.001 inch using gauges and instruments
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must have personal hand tools (wrenches, socket sets, screwdrivers, etc.)
• Certified forklift operator or ability to obtain certification
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
• Regular standing, walking, reaching, and handling tools and components
• Occasional kneeling, crouching, or lifting (up to 50 pounds)
• Exposure to manufacturing environment with moving parts, noise, and airborne particles
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
