GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Samaritan Counseling is a mental health counseling organization providing professional services in Sarasota and Manatee counties for the past 26 years. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Finance/Business Director will lead all financial and business activities within the organization, focusing on daily operation while developing and managing long-term strategic financial goals. This position o versees financial activities managed by outsourced CPA firm and billing company.
Activities and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
· Accounting and Reporting: Oversee day-to-day financial operations of the organization. Monitor financial accounting functions of outsourced CPA firm, including payroll, 401K plan, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and annual audit.
· Reporting and Communication: Prepare end-of-month organization business reports for outsourced CPA firm to incorporate in monthly financial statements. Lead Finance Committee meetings and present reports to senior management, Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
· Business Partnering: Collaborate with and monitor efficiency of outsourced billing company. Partner with internal departments to support their financial needs and strategic goals.
· Investment Management: Manage monthly cash flow and monitor performance of organization’s investments.
· Strategic Financial Guidance: Provide financial guidance to the executive team and other departments to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
· Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
· Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
·      Financial Management experience
·      Proficiency in Quickbooks financial reporting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
·      Excellent organizational, interpersonal communication skills, and independent judgement.
·      Self-motivated, results driven, detail oriented, and adaptable
·      Problem solving skills
·      Ability to handle confidential information about clients in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
·      Superior project management, organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills
·      Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
·      Minimum 5 years of financial management or direct related experience
·      Familiarity with the healthcare and insurance industries
·      Non-profit experience
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
·      Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
·      Master’s degree (MBA or Master of Finance) is a plus.
