Judson Smith is based just outside Boyertown, PA and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies and a leading manufacturer of metal tubular parts and machined components to custom specifications for the medical device, aerospace and automotive industries. Capabilities include Swiss Screw machine parts, laser cutting and welding, tube fabrication, CNC milling / turning, wire EDM and more.
Position Summary
Responsible to manage all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and shipping to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time, while meeting the Company's strategic goals and objectives. This position is also responsible to develop and manage all supplier relationships.
Ideal Experience
5-7 years of progressive experience in management of materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment. Working knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and their use in a manufacturing environment. Ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills. APICS certification a plus.
Essental Responsibilities
• Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility and safety and wellness of all team members.
• Responsible to ensure process adherence to all applicable quality procedures to assure quality product with priority for patient safety.
• Communicate regularly with plant personnel, customers, and vendors to maintain a high level of morale.
• Creates master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasting and customer orders.
• Manages and directs all shipping, receiving, and purchasing operations.
• Prepares production reports and list of required materials, work centers, and equipment.
• Plan and manage the procurement of material for the support of the sourcing plan and manufacturing plan.
• Ensure that purchasing documents (i.e. purchase orders), are processed completely and accurately and submitted on-time to suppliers; responsible for maintaining correct cost and data entry and follow the complete procurement process from P/O (Purchase order) submission to P/O receipt.
• Administer, in conjunction with material and QA (Quality Assurance) management, internal / external supplier quality accountability via a non-conformance reporting system.
• Monitor and report on supplier on-time delivery, addressing any issues that could impact the manufacturing process and escalating concerns as needed.
• Persistently looking for, and communicate, opportunities for cost reduction and avoidance.
• Reviewing and updating supply chain practices and inventory levels in line with company policies, standards, laws and regulations.
• Must understand AS9100 and FDA requirements as they relate to Judson Smith.
• All other duties as assigned or exhibit teamwork throughout the plant to the sole discretion of the company.
Qualifications
• 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
• Bachelor's degree, in business, Supply Chain, or equivalent skills and experience.
• Experience managing a team.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Experienced with ERP and MRP systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
