JOB SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in duties concerned with sanitation programs in our food processing establishment.
Team member safety, productivity, maintaining staffing, and administering and discipline in accordance with team member handbook.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
• Inspects equipment after cleaning for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
• Communicates daily with team members. Listen to concerns and address complaints and resolve issues. Provide training and development plans for the team.
• Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
• Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
• Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
• Track chemical and water usage. Track supply cost.
• Routes reports to designated plant personnel.
• Provide a safe working environment performing regular safety training exercises and monitor to ensure team members are working safely to prevent accidents.
• Study production schedules and estimate sanitation labor requirements for task completion.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to ensure best methods are used during cleaning.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
• Performs activities of workers supervised when necessary.
• Take a proactive role in assuring safe, quality products are produced by immediately addressing any safety or quality concerns.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent. College preferred but not required. Experience in a leadership role or demonstrated ability to function as an effective leader.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Effective communication skills to both hourly and managerial personnel.
Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, comprehend and write English.
Spanish not required but a plus
