Job Responsibilities The Systems Programmer is responsible for designing programs and implementing solutions and modifications to meet a wide range of application needs within the college; works with users and other developers to determine best solutions to problems with data, documentation, and user interfaces.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and work experience in the modification of systems programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Must have the ability to design, write, and maintain computer programs with the PL/SQL, Java, JavaScript, or Python languages, preferably in a Linux environment. Skills with Linux shell scripts and build tools are required. A customer service-oriented mindset and the ability to clearly deliver instruction and general information to users and faculty/staff members is required.
