Position Summary
The Welder II at Engineered Products serves as a skilled welder and team member within the fabrication department. This role requires advanced MIG welding capabilities, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to lead less experienced welders in a high-volume production environment. The Welder II will ensure consistent quality, assist with process improvements, and communicate daily with the Welding lead and Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform advanced MIG welding on complex structural components with minimal supervision.
• Lead a small team of welders if asked, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
• Review and interpret detailed blueprints and welding symbols for production accuracy.
• Conduct quality checks and ensure all welds meet or exceed industry and company standards.
• Assist with troubleshooting fabrication issues and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Welding lead and Ops Manager to prioritize workloads and maintain schedules.
• Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and internal protocols.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required. Welding certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of MIG welding experience in a structural or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of welding techniques, symbols, and fabrication standards.
• Proven leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to mentor and train junior welders.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Reliable when it comes to attendance and consistency of work
