Location: Hybrid / Sarasota, FL Department: IT / Enterprise Communications Reports To: Director of Infrastructure & Engineering Position Summary: A Unified Communications Engineer is needed to support, design, and optimize enterprise-wide communication platforms. This role will concentrate on Microsoft Teams, VoIP telephony systems, and Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platforms such as Five9. The candidate should have experience in a multi-state, multi-site healthcare services environment and possess strong technical expertise in unified communications and collaboration tools. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain unified communications solutions including Microsoft Teams, VoIP systems, and CCaaS platforms (e.g., Five9). Serve as the technical SME for enterprise voice services, conferencing systems, call routing, auto attendants, and contact center configurations. Administer and support Teams Direct Routing, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), and call flow integrations with other systems. Partner with clinical, operational, and support teams to ensure communications systems meet business needs and regulatory requirements. Troubleshoot complex voice and video issues across multiple platforms, providing Tier III support as needed. Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance and availability of UC platforms. Manage vendor relationships, assist in evaluating UC solutions, and oversee implementations and upgrades. Document architectures, configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides for internal use. Ensure HIPAA compliance, security standards, and high availability across all communication systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience supporting unified communications in an enterprise environment. Proficient in Microsoft Teams (including Teams Phone and Direct Routing) and VoIP systems. Hands-on experience with CCaaS platforms such as Five9, Genesys, or NICE inContact. Strong understanding of SIP, QoS, SBCs, and network requirements for voice/video. Experience in healthcare IT environments, particularly multi-site, multi-state organizations, preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA, security, and compliance requirements for communication platforms. Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Teams Voice Engineer Associate CompTIA Network+ or equivalent Five9 Administrator or similar CCaaS certification
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 a year
