The team specializes in delivering networked sensor system solutions by combining a strong understanding of the underlying physics, high-fidelity modeling, simulation of complex signatures and propagation phenomenology, deep expertise in signal processing, EM and RF phenomenology, and computer science, proven capabilities in system development, and mature tools to enable rapid design cycles from theory to demonstration. We are currently searching for a highly qualified Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA.What you will do:BBN is seeking an engineer knowledgeable in digital signal processing and the radio frequency (RF) domain to join our team of electrical engineers, physicists, and mathematicians as we build and deliver advanced prototype systems that exploit the RF spectrum. Candidate will work under the guidance of a senior engineer on small applied research projects where we design and implement advanced signal processing algorithms in novel hardware, implement on real-time hardware, test in a lab environment, then validate in an over-the-air field environment.What you will do:Work with a small team on cutting-edge research and development projectsCollaborate with world class researchers and engineers that embrace innovation and challenge the status quoAssist in engineering activities such as system integration, software and hardware testing and troubleshooting, algorithm and data analysis using Matlab, embedded development and test scripting using C/C++Contribute to technical reports, proposals, publications and presentationsPosition may require some amount of overnight travel.Qualifications You Must Have:BS with 5 years of relevant experience, or MS with 3 years, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other relevant fieldStrong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to plan and direct tasks for small teamsSolid and creative programming skillsDevelopment experience using C, C++, Python, Matlab, and/or Java applied to signal processing challengesEligibility to obtain a Top Secret government security clearanceQualifications we prefer:Design and development experience with unique combined hardware and software systemsExperience with or interest in sensors, actuators, control systems and systems that touch the physical worldThe salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
