Packaging Operator II
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Packaging Operator II to join our gummy line production team.
Under the direction supervision of the Packaging Supervisor, the packaging material handler is responsible for the transport, service, and preparation of all bulk and components to the packaging lines as well as assisting with all packaging line functions.
Specific Responsibilities
• Accurately read work orders, and using specified pick list, verify all components and bulk, and transport to appropriate packaging line.
• Ensure lines and hoppers are stocked, and all components are available.
• Assist with any rework. Make necessary adjustments on the packaging line.
• Transport skids to finished goods or cartoning area when applicable.
• Make all necessary returns from the previous run and complete all required paperwork.
• Maintain a clean work area by taking all trash to the dumpster area and dispose of all cardboard as needed.
• At the end of the shift, ensure all product has been removed from the hopper and close hopper covers.
• Safety and proficiently operates material handler powered equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operates all bulk packaging line equipment including the bottle hopper, capper and bundler.
• Assemble cartons, apply labels to cartons, and shipper labels to shippers, and verify to work order.
• Pack all finished products while inspecting for lot numbers, labels, caps, neck bands, leakers, etc.
• Complete any rework and introduce back into run before its completion.
• Ensure that all components are correct for first run.
• Fix minor issues on all packaging equipment including capper, induction sealer and bundler.
• Assist with effectively setting up, changing over and adjustments for all equipment on the packaging line.
• Processes paperwork and completes basic computer transactions as required.
• Clean tooling or machinery after each run, to include hoses, brushes, vibrators, bottom pan; Sweep, mop and take out trash.
• Work efficiently to drive process reliability and reduce line down time.
• Assist with training new employees when necessary.
• Cross train and assist in other areas to support business needs.
• Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean and safe working environment at all times and notifies supervisor immediately of any safety concerns, accidents or injuries are observed.
• Ensures accurate and timely completion of all equipment logs, cleaning logs and all cGMP documentation.
• Understands and adheres to all cGMP and FDA regulations.
• Identifies and reports any quality issues to supervisor or quality department.
• Understands and adheres to all Company policies, procedures, SOPs and Safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Licenses
• 1-3 years Material Handler experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience in GMP environment
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Strong work ethic, professional approach and ownership of line production performance.
• Ability to read and comprehend SOP’s, Batch Records and training documents
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to understand basic math and have basic computer knowledge.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills is a requirement.
• Team player; works well with others.
• Ability to operate powered equipment trucks safely and according to Company policy/procedure.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Job requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive task
• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack, super sack lift, and Presto lift
• Ability to work overtime (Weekends) and Shift Work with required notice.
