JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory / Quality Supervisor oversees inventory and cycle counts daily including shipping and receiving of customer products consistent with Company objectives and is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality System to assure that the products and services provided meet customer requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to optimize inventory accuracy, reduce discrepancies, and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
• Establish inventory metrics and KPIs to deliver during business reviews.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all products stocked in the warehouse, their attributes, and proper storage requirements.
• Maintain Cycle Count Program: Perform regular cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize WMS and EDI to track and manage inventory levels, transactions, and movements accurately.
• Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to forecast inventory needs, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess inventory costs.
• Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures, ensuring all products meet established specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with key business partners to develop and create work instructions.
• Manage audits – customer and internal - through scheduling, task assignments, preparation, and required corrective actions. Act as a liaison with customers on quality or other customer satisfaction related issues.
• Manage corrective action process and assist manager as needed to drive problem resolution and sustain improvements.
• Conduct regular inspections of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify the quality, quantity, and accuracy of products.
• Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to address any concerns promptly.
• Analyze quality control data and create reports to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Train and mentor staff on proper inventory management practices, quality control procedures, and safe handling of products.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Continuously identify opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency, streamline processes, and improve overall operations.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights on inventory levels, quality control performance, and potential improvements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work of forklift drivers, team leaders and other warehouse personnel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Strong knowledge of inventory management software systems and proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Effective leadership and team management abilities, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with quality control standards and practices within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to inventory management and quality control.
• Understanding of FSMA and Food Safety regulations.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents, including protocols, standard operating procedures, customer orders, and pick tickets.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The performance of this position requires exposure to the warehouse areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and foot protection. The floor manager is frequently exposed to hot, humid, and cold conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate
