Licensed Professional Counselor-Associates
Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC-Associate) play a pivotal role in the mental health and well-being of individuals. They are trained to provide emotional support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to clients experiencing a variety of mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
• Conduct individual, couples, and group counseling sessions
• Develop and implement treatment plans based on client needs and goals
• Assess clients' mental health status and progress through interviews and observations
• Provide crisis intervention and emergency counseling as necessary
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care
• Educate clients about mental health issues and coping strategies
• Administer and interpret psychological assessments and tests
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
• Advocate for clients to access additional resources and support services
• Comply with all legal and ethical guidelines in the counseling profession
• Facilitate support groups and workshops for clients and the community
• Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and interventions
• Provide supervision and training to counseling interns and junior staff
Qualifications
• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field
• Licensed as an LPC-A in the state of practice
• Experience in a specific area of counseling, such as addiction, family therapy, or trauma
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of current counseling practices and therapeutic techniques
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Bilingual abilities are often advantageous
• Experience in a clinical setting
• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
• State licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Completion of required supervised clinical hours
• Strong understanding of ethical and legal guidelines in counseling
• Excellent listening and empathy skills
• Ability to develop effective treatment plans
• Proficiency in conducting assessments and therapeutic interventions
• Good organizational and time-management abilities
