Director, Portfolio Management and IT Programs
Location: Rockville, MD (Onsite, 2 days minimum)

Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Director, Portfolio Management and IT Programs to lead a portfolio of technical projects, drive innovative client solutions, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery. This strategic role involves managing Project Managers (PMs), overseeing project-level P&L, fostering strong client partnerships, and contributing to business growth through capture efforts, partner relationship development, and internal workforce engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Leadership
• Provide strategic oversight for a portfolio of technical projects aligned with business and client priorities.
• Maintain full profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
• Produce portfolio roadmaps, performance reports, and risk assessments.
Client Partnership
• Act as a strategic advisor to clients, understanding business needs and aligning technical solutions.
• Maintain relationship management plans and deliver client satisfaction reports.
Business Development
• Identify and pursue growth opportunities within accounts.
• Support capture activities with pre- and post-RFP engagement, including white papers and proposal development.
Solution Delivery
• Oversee cross-functional teams in designing and delivering technical solutions.
• Monitor project health dashboards, budgets, KPIs, and risk mitigation plans.
Mentorship and Coaching
• Mentor and develop Project Managers to foster leadership and ownership.
• Provide coaching aligned with business objectives and client success.
Workforce Development and Engagement
• Guide internal teams on delivery models, and support continuous improvement.
• Build collaborative feedback loops for process enhancements.
Risk and Financial Management
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks across projects.
• Ensure budget forecasting, cost control, and margin optimization.
Stakeholder and Partner Engagement
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders and industry partners.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Experience: 10+ years of IT project/program management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity managing PMs or cross-functional teams.
Certification : PMP required.
Demonstrated ability to lead portfolios in complex environments (e.g., federal contracting, healthcare, enterprise IT).
Strong background in client relationship management and business development.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe frameworks and tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or MS Project.
Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud, application development, and/or cybersecurity.
Compensation And Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $195K per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
