Help Desk Specialist
Position Summary
The IT Help Desk Specialist is a hybrid role responsible for providing frontline technical support and performing onsite IT activities, including system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This position demands strong technical proficiency in electronics, software, and networking, alongside excellent communication and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who can manage client relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Respond to service tickets using IT Service Management (ITSM) system; participate in rotational on-call support
• Image, configure, wipe, and optimize Windows desktop systems
• Install and test systems and perform site preparation and setup
• Evaluate and recommend IT solutions, products, and services
• Assist with incidents, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Support preventative maintenance and consumable replenishment programs
• Collaborate with partner vendors and maintain order tracking
• Accurately complete work orders, reports, and inventory documentation
• Contribute to Incident Management and support RCA documentation
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and ePHI standards
• Perform evening/weekend shift work as required
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Office 365 and remote support tools
• Familiarity with IT ticketing and support systems
• Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage confidential data
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and insurance
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manipulate equipment as needed
• Availability to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays
Education & Experience
• High school diploma (or equivalent) required
• Minimum 4 years of relevant IT support or field service experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office 365
• Experience with client-facing support and installations
Preferred Qualifications
• A+ Certification or similar
• Network+ Certification or similar
• Knowledge of VoIP systems
• Prior experience in healthcare IT support
Compensation : 25-30/hr depending on experience, education, and other qualifications
