This is a 12-month (year-round) position located in the Clarke County School District, however, you are an employee of Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens.
Family Connection-Communities In Schools of Athens seeks qualified applicants for 2 new Communities In Schools Site Coordinators, one at the elementary level and another at the high school level. Please indicate in your cover letter your preference for working with elementary or high school students. The Site Coordinators will work collaboratively with school personnel to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
Responsibilities:
· In partnership with key stakeholders, coordinate creation, implementation, and monitoring of annual site operations plan, incorporating needs assessment, case management, service delivery, data tracking, and evaluation/reporting.
· Secure community support and partnerships to meet school and student needs as identified in the site operations plan.
· Work with school team to identify students who need services. Provide tiered services to students and their families to identify and eliminate barriers to their academic/school success. Coordinate whole school and prevention activities.
· Host a whole school (Tier I) event at least quarterly in alignment with the School Support Plan.
· Ensure each student on caseload receives Tier II/Tier III services at a minimum once per month.
· Ensure each student on caseload receives a formal student check-in at least once per month.
· Coordinate and engage students in community service and service-learning projects.
· Support and participate in school orientations, open houses, school support team meetings, and parent events.
· Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for school site.
· Assure all required data collection is entered into data management systems (e.g. CISDM).
· Meet data collection timeline requirements outlined in the Site Coordinator Scope of Work.
· Evaluate the effectiveness of services in achieving school-wide goals and addressing the needs of individual students. Monitor and adjust services as needed to maximize effectiveness and impact.
· Communicate closely with the Project Manager at all times.
· Provide written reports as required.
· Participate in all required trainings.
· Participate in FC-CIS Strategic Action Teams as appropriate.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Social Work or related field preferred; relevant experience may be substituted
· Experience working directly with youth
· Excellent writing, communication, and leadership skills
· Strong understanding of the Athens community, the population to be served, and the community systems that serve youth and families, including schools, health systems, human services, and others
· Ability to work flexible hours
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and social media
· Valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of adequate auto insurance coverage
· Ability to work both independently and in a team
· Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency an asset, but not required
· Must pass criminal background check
