Senior Associate Auditor
Senior Audit Associate
District Partners has been engaged by a growing public accounting firm to identify an experienced Senior Audit Associate to join their Assurance team. This individual will support financial audits, reviews, and tax preparation across a wide range of clients, with significant exposure to nonprofit organizations and construction contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to grow their public accounting career in a collaborative and client-focused environment. Industry experience in nonprofit and/or construction is strongly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
• Perform assigned portions of audits and reviews under the direction of senior team members
• Prepare organized and accurate workpapers, financial schedules, and trial balances
• Draft clear and concise narratives and findings based on audit procedures
• Assist in preparing client financial statements in compliance with applicable standards
• Contribute to the preparation of individual and business tax returns, including support schedules
• Maintain electronic documentation in accordance with paperless file protocols
• Conduct research on accounting and tax matters relevant to client engagements
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work
• Provide oversight and guidance to interns or junior staff as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 1–3 years of recent public accounting experience
• CPA license or active progress toward certification preferred
• Working knowledge of GAAP and introductory-level tax principles
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and commonly used accounting/audit software
Preferred Experience:
• Exposure to nonprofit organizations, including familiarity with grant compliance and fund accounting
• Familiarity with construction industry engagements, including percentage-of-completion or job costing models
• Familiarity with Manufacturing and Inventory Accounting
