Job Description: Patient Care Assistant (PCA)
Position Overview
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for travel assignments in various healthcare facilities. The PCA will provide support to patients by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), helping with personal care, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This position requires compassionate care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Provide basic personal care, including toileting and feeding.
Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
Help patients with mobility, including transfers and positioning.
Maintain patient comfort and safety at all times.
Assist with light housekeeping duties such as changing bed linens and ensuring a clean environment.
Support patients during mealtime and assist with feeding when necessary.
Communicate regularly with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
Travel to various healthcare facilities for temporary assignments as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a PCA certification program preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a PCA, CNA, or similar role is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to follow care plans, and knowledge of basic patient care techniques.
Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments.
