Software Developer
Salary: $41.87 to $48.48 hourly
Description
We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our team in Reading, Pennsylvania. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in evaluating and improving the performance of an existing e-commerce platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with other developers while implementing technical solutions to enhance functionality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
• Conduct a comprehensive technical audit of the e-commerce platform to identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable fixes.
• Analyze the current architecture, focusing on front-end code, to pinpoint inefficiencies and areas for optimization.
• Investigate and resolve potential conflicts between JavaScript libraries, particularly those involving jQuery.
• Diagnose performance issues by identifying problematic lines of code and ensuring proper targeting of elements.
• Implement optimizations to improve site performance and functionality.
• Collaborate with the existing development team to mentor and guide them in addressing and preventing future technical challenges.
• Ensure error handling is robust and aligned with best practices.
• Provide detailed technical reviews to highlight what is working well and what requires adjustment.
Requirements
• Proficiency in JavaScript, including experience with jQuery and other libraries.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex performance issues.
• Demonstrated experience optimizing existing websites for performance and usability.
• Familiarity with evaluating and improving front-end architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in identifying code conflicts and inefficiencies.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and provide mentorship.
• Availability to work onsite two days per week in Reading, Pennsylvania.
