The RN Supervisor in the Surgery Department oversees daily unit operations, staffing, and employee relations to ensure quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Collaborates with leadership and educators to develop and evaluate staff training and competency programs.
• Manages scheduling, reassignments, and workload distribution to meet staffing needs.
• Coordinates orientation, education, and specialized training for new and existing staff.
• Addresses complex issues like patient complaints and crises, providing guidance and feedback.
• Provides support to temporarily reassigned team members and participates in performance management.
• Requires a BSN or enrollment in an RN to BSN program, with three+ years OR experience, current Iowa nursing license, and OR certification within a year.
• Preferred candidates have supervisory experience, teaching skills, and advanced certifications.
