Purchasing Agent
Salary: $37.53 to $43.45 hourly
Description
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Agent to join our client's team in Reading, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various procurement and shipping processes to maintain seamless operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proficiency in inventory systems, and expertise in procurement or logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and update carrier information, rates, and logistics data in relevant systems.
• Assign ratings and oversee transportation orders, including truckload and specialized shipments.
• Review and verify carrier invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Coordinate transportation for incoming and outgoing shipments, including third-party logistics management.
• Prepare shipping documentation for orders and specialized sample requests as needed.
• Track and confirm incoming shipments to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Manage fleet documentation, including licenses, credentials, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and oversee container inventory to ensure proper allocation and use.
• Provide support and cross-training for other team members in logistics coordination roles.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with procurement processes or transportation management systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in purchasing, logistics, or related fields is preferred.
• Financial background is preferred.
