Vice President of External Relations Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, invites applications for a Full-Time Exempt Vice President of External Relations to join our community. The major areas of responsibility, include but are not limited to: Administering the College’s programs and personnel in areas of philanthropic support, engagement and campus relations Provides staff support for the Board of Trustees Assists other College officers in establishing funding needs and objectives, while overseeing the planning and execution of all fundraising programs for current operating, capital, and special purposes. Soliciting support from all private and public sources, including trustees, alumni, parents, faculty and staff, friends, foundations and corporations. Assisting the President, the Board of Trustees, and other top volunteer leadership in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift prospects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, with a master’s or higher preferred. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in one or more areas of development. Well-developed skills and experience at providing leadership, team building, planning, and goal setting. Knowledge of all component areas of development and well-developed ability to inter- relate and utilize these areas for the benefit of the college. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate comfortably with people of all ages and backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire people, and to close major gifts. Ability to persuasively articulate institutional vision. Well-developed skills to think critically and ability to creatively solve problems. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively and flexibly, as well as independently.
