MISSION: Ensure that parts meet or exceed customer requirements. KPI and/or main deliverables - % of NOK parts inspected, Customer quality, Scrap ACTIVITIES: Work according to HSE requirements (LOTO, cleaning…) and promote safety mindset on day to day basis · Inspect parts. Apply visual and gage inspection according to Work Instructions. · Identify defects on parts. · Escalate appropriately, when defects are found. · Assist in training employees on proper inspection methods and defects. · Check quality of parts and Operator performance at each manufacturing process. Escalate problems. · Audit and escalate Operator’s adherence to work instructions. Perform additional Audits such as LPA, In-process, etc. · Monitor rework process and verify part conformance to specification. Maintain production samples in proper storage locations. Keep accurate Quality Records, both electronic and written. Practice and support current IMS procedures within scope of responsibility. Maintain work area in neat and orderly fashion in accordance with 5S principles. · Assist in other work as directed by Operations and/or Quality Engineer. Specific Local Activities · Retrieve the injection mold schedule from the supervisors’ meeting area. · Use the injection schedule to initiate information for every OK SOP checklist assigned. · Complete the OK SOP checklist within the first 45 minutes for all assigned presses. · Familiarize yourself with items to be monitored on the OK SOP form, including Driers, 5S, TPM, Parameters, FPA, and LP. · Inspect one part per press assigned to verify the quality of the product sent to Ferag. · Follow the injection mold schedule to track first and last piece flow. · For the last piece check, follow the FPA work instructions: Ø Inspect and weigh the part for potential defects. Ø Perform all required markings as specified by the work instructions. Ø Enter all data in Excel folders immediately. Ø Stage the last piece on designated racks. Ø Retrieve the old last piece from the rack and place it on the scrap rack. Ø These tasks must be completed before the new tool is ready to run. · Average tool change time is 24-28 minutes. · For the first piece check: Ø Be present at the press to validate alongside the process tech. Ø Inspect the part, focusing on defect history (both obvious and non-obvious). Ø Verify label information (date, punch, AI level, time). Ø Check waviness, flow line, and lifter line using alcohol at the FPA station. Ø Record all data on FPA folders once all checklist items are completed. Ø Ensure the first and last pieces are defect-free to avoid paint or line assembly issues. · Conduct random hourly checks to ensure the quality of finished products remains within compliance. · In case of defects reported by trackside BMW or internally by OP Assembly or Paint Depts, initiate sorting procedures immediately. Pull affected stock for sorting, inspection, and rework. Create a sort form with all relevant data. COMPETENCES REQUIREMENTS § HS Diploma or GED § Able to successfully pass Farnsworth-Munsell color blindess assessment. § Microsoft Office Computer skills § Able to read, write and perform basic math functions § Superior organization skills § Able to read and understand graphs and gages. § Previous experience in production environment. Previous experience Inspecting is preferred. § Strong inter-personal skills; ability to successfully interface with internal customers and other associates; strong problem-solving skills; able to confidently share facts and data when problems are detected We are an equal opportunity employer.
