Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in operational accounting, monthly financial reporting, and some finance to join our clients accounting team in Bethesda, Maryland. This role involves managing diverse aspects of accounting, including monthly close processes, general ledger, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, investor reporting, and capital deployment modeling. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to handle complex financial data.
Responsibilities:
? Prepare and post accurate journal entries across various entities and business lines.
? Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts, including loans, debt, subsidiary investments, and equity capital.
? Generate consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules on a monthly basis.
? Oversee cash management activities such as loan fundings, capital calls, and cash distributions.
? Develop and submit detailed reporting packages for investors and bondholders, including performance metrics and payment waterfalls.
? Ensure compliance with loan covenants and credit facility requirements by preparing necessary reports.
? Record and reconcile loan activity, including purchases, sales, payoffs, and servicing advances.
? Manage daily funding schedules and coordinate cash movements with operations and external parties.
? Assist in preparing short- and long-term cash flow forecasts and capital planning models.
? Identify areas for process improvement and support audits, regulatory filings, and ad hoc reporting needs.
This position reports directly to the CFO and is in the office in Bethesda 3 days/week. The ideal candidate for this Senior Accountant role will have a BS in Accounting 3+ years of day to day accounting up to financial statement preparation and intermediate Excel skills. Comp range is 70-90K + discretionary bonus and full benefits. Additional Information
? A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related field, demonstrating attention to detail. ? Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation. ? Strong knowledge of cash management processes, including wire transfers and cash flow forecasting. ? Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and financial modeling. ? Experience with securitization and structured finance transactions is highly desirable. ? Attention to detail and the ability to manage large volumes of data accurately. ? Strong analytical skills to support forecasting, portfolio performance analysis, and capital planning. ? Excellent communication and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
