The Director of Operations – Warehousing and Logistics is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of all warehousing, distribution, and logistics operations. This role ensures operational excellence, cost control, and high-quality service delivery while driving continuous improvement and aligning operations with company objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in warehousing and logistics management
Responsibilities
• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehousing, logistics, and distribution operations. Align operational goals with the company’s overall business objectives
• Warehousing Operations: Oversee the management of warehouse facilities, ensuring optimal space utilization, inventory accuracy, and efficient processes. Implement and maintain best practices in inventory control, order fulfillment, and material handling
• Logistics and Transportation: Manage transportation activities, including carrier selection, route optimization, and delivery performance. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for domestic and international shipping
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals, including warehouse managers, logistics staff, and other team members. Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Performance Management: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and cost efficiency
• Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets for warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring cost-effective practices. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality
• Technology and Systems: Evaluate and implement technologies to streamline operations, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS). Ensure data integrity and leverage analytics for informed decision-making
• Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery. Maintain high standards of service to meet customer expectations
Qualifications and Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management, including leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and data analytics tools
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing team
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives
