Description:
This position requires experience in various aspects of patient care.
You will assist with ambulation and feeding patients.
You will help turn and reposition patients as needed.
Changing linen for occupied and unoccupied beds is part of the responsibilities.
Incontinence care and mouth care will be required.
You will perform perineal care for both male and female patients.
Knowledge of using antiembolic stockings is necessary.
You must be familiar with bed alarms, bedpans, and urinals.
Experience with bedside commodes and crutches is essential.
You will work with electronic vital sign equipment and glucometers.
Knowledge of hospital and specialty beds is expected.
You will need to be able to use Hoyer lifts for patient transfers.
Cleaning and maintaining equipment is part of the role.
You must be proficient in donning and removing personal protective equipment.
Understanding isolation precautions is vital.
You may be required to perform dressing changes.
You will regularly perform finger sticks and measure or record intake and output.
Obtaining vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure is necessary.
You will be responsible for collecting sterile specimens.
The role requires performing 12 lead EKGs and CPR when necessary.
You will carry out phlebotomy duties.
Removing peripheral IVs is part of your responsibilities.
Routine catheter care for indwelling and external catheters is required.
You will collect stool and urine specimens.
You need to be able to identify abnormal vital signs.
Assisting with bathing and hygiene is also part of the job.
You must label and transport specimens correctly.
