Job Title: GED/Pre-GED Teacher (Math) - Evenings
Qualifications
• Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate of Ability to receive waiver
• Ability to teach Math (Algebra)
Location:
• Lifelong Learning at Sullivan Center
Hours
• Three to Four Hours Tuesday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Reports To
• Coordinator of Academic Programs at Lifelong Learning
Job Goal
• To prepare students 17 years of age and older to take and pass the GED test
Responsibilities
• Establish appropriate classroom rules and management to create college and career readiness
• Establish clear line of communication with Administration
• Provide directed teaching, one-to-one instruction, group work, use of multiple resources and methods for various learning styles and ability levels to meet student goals
• Monitor and assess student achievement, including TABE Pre and Post Tests, SCOIS, curriculum tests and writing assignments, WIN preparation and Testing, GED Ready Testing, etc.
• Maintain student records
• Provide assistance to students to set up GED accounts.
• Provide College and Career Readiness referrals
• Attend Lifelong Learning meetings and state-wide professional development training
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Program Coordinator or Director
