BLENDER OPERATOR
Diamond Plastics Corporation is one of today's leading PVC pipe producers in North America and one of the largest producers in the world with products for both water and sewer applications through 60 inches in diameter.  Diamond Plastics has seven manufacturing facilities located strategically across the United States.
The position is in charge of the process that blends resin and raw materials to create specified compounds based on product. The position is responsible for the complete blending process including meeting manufacturing standards and efficiencies and maintaining specifications standards. The position is expected to support Diamond Plastics Corporation’s teamwork strategies and assist their co-workers to maintain all continuous improvement strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The position is responsible for but not limited to:
• ·         Must be proficient in all aspects of the blending operation.
• ·         Understand types of compounds.
• ·         Start machines and set controls to regulate blending ingredients to meet specifications.
• ·         Ensure that blended material is produced within specifications by carrying out periodic physical and visual inspections.
• ·         Perform routine monitoring of the blending process.
• ·         Checks all process documentation logs and production quantity records.
• ·         Perform final blend material acceptance.
• ·         Perform process adjustments to maintain production rate and product quality.
• ·         Know silo selections and how to change from one compound to another.
• ·         Maintain material levels in storage silos.
• ·         Ensures that all material containers and trucks are empty before leaving the facility.
• ·         Know the locations of the hand loaded additive hoppers and what materials go in the hoppers.
• ·         Recognize a hot batch condition and the procedures to follow when it occurs.
• ·         Able to operate the blending system with minimal direct supervision.
• ·         Notify supervisors and other personnel of problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
• ·         Maintain housekeeping practices equivalent to plant standards.
• ·         Comply with all company safety, standards, rules and policies.
• ·         Reliable attendance.

·         Skill levels: This position is skill-level based with specialty skills that must be achieved for each level. Skill-based pay is a set compensation based on the achievement of these skills. All individuals will also perform the essential functions of each skill level achieved.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Â Â Â Â Â Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
2. Â Â Â Â Â Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors.
3. Â Â Â Â Â Must be able to lift, push and pull weights to 60 pounds.
4. Â Â Â Â Â Must be about to push/pull distances of 30 feet.
5. Â Â Â Â Â Must be able to climb silos approximately 60 feet high.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and physical requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.     High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

·         Rotating Day/Night shift (alternating 3-4 shifts every other week)
·         Overtime
