Kiddie Academy of North Phoenix is seeking individuals with a passion for nutritious, food for our students and staff. The Kitchen Manager will manage the kitchen staff including school cooks, and prep cook/dishwashers. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for all areas of the kitchen including food prep, family style service, assisting with ordering and inventory, dish washing and overall food safety. The School Cook is also responsible for maintaining a kitchen that is organized, efficient, at the highest level of safety and cleanliness standards. REQUIREMENTS: Food Handler’s Certification (Must have Managerial Food Handlers Certification) Proficient skills with kitchen equipment Knowledgeable in local Health Department regulations and standards Experience in large volume facilities such as schools, elderly care, health care, catering, banquets or restaurants. Job Types: Part-time, Full-time Duties Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and regulations. Assist in menu planning, including seasonal offerings and special dietary needs and ordering. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation while adhering to safety protocols. Participate in training sessions on culinary techniques and food handling practices. Experience Previous experience in a food service or culinary role is preferred. Familiarity with fine dining concepts and high-volume kitchen operations is a plus. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry. Experience with menu planning and dietary aide responsibilities is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
