The Mental Health Professional serves as team leader providing team and individually delivered therapy and case management to children and their families in the home and/or community. Therapists work with the child and family to improve overall family attachments and cohesion, self-regulation, and anchor a support system. This position is required to work hours that coincide with client schedules, including day, evening, and/or weekend hours.Within the ACT/LTSR programs they facilitate group and individual mental health services with adults. Focusing on psychoeducation, affordable housing, employment, and psychiatric services MHP’s assist individuals in remaining out of inpatient care setting by assisting in maintaining stability within their communitiesRequired Education/ExperienceEducation-.Graduate Degree in psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation, or any graduate degree in the field of human services; OR (ACT/FB)Registered Nurse with five years’ experience in the mental health field, plus have certification by the Department of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Health (OMH), as a mental health family-based worker; ORBachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, education, pre-med, theology, anthropology, or any degree in the field of human services, plus certification by the Pennsylvania Certification Board as a mental health family-based worker(Family Based only)ExperienceMinimum of two years’ experience in a CASSP System Program (family based only)Minimum of 1 year of clinical or rehabilitation experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, internship and/or practicum experience are considered experience if conducted in a clinical inpatient or outpatient setting (ACT only)Rate of Pay $25.00 hourlyRequired Licenses/CertificationsValid driver’s licenseResponsibilities Develops and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders.  Ensures stakeholder satisfaction with the company by maintaining proactive, responsive communication. Maintains regular, proactive communication with key stakeholder groups, and builds new relationships as needed to further the company’s mission and vision. Develop meaningful relationships and collaborative with external resources for community linkage and aftercare planning.Directs Communication with Management and Executives. Establishes and maintains frequent and regular communication with Program Director, Program Coordinator and Operations Director as needed.Report treatment difficulties to supervisor.Identifies and executes on growth opportunities. Ability to acknowledge and establish areas of personal and professional growth in annual evaluations.Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with client, child, parent/guardian, treatment team members, and other personnel involved in treatment.Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with children, families, and staff from a variety of cultures and social backgrounds.Must have knowledge of various therapy techniques and counseling strategies applicable to serving complex family systems.Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children/adolescents and adults with persistent mental health challenges.Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.Must display professional attitude.Must display empathy, active listening skills, critical thinking/problem solving skillsPerforms other related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities N/ARequired Competencies (Mental Health Professional Family Based)Accepting Responsibility (Supported by Be Proactive) -Takes accountability for delivering on commitments; owns mistakes; and uses them as opportunities for learning and development; openly discusses his or her actions and their consequences, both good and bad.Setting Objectives and Goals- (Supported by Beginning with the End in Mind) - Sets meaningful, measurable, and attainable treatment plan goals and objectives for monthly treatment planning as well as professional development.Develop individualized treatment plans through collaboration with the family and Mental Health Worker.Prioritizing and Organizing Work- (Supported by Put First Things First) Allocates time and attention based on what is most important to achieve key goals and objectives.  Effectively organizes and balances tasks and priorities to keep multiple projects on track.Maintains client schedules to assure we are meeting their needs and scheduling when they are available.
