Job Title: Field Service Technician Job Description As a Field Service Technician, you will perform maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and related equipment at customer facilities. You will diagnose mechanical problems within heavy industrial manufacturing environments, working collaboratively with other technicians and project engineers on major installations, upgrades, and modifications. Training will be provided to conduct documented safety inspections in compliance with OSHA guidelines. You'll also perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance, consult with customers regarding deficiencies, and complete all necessary paperwork.
Responsibilities • Perform maintenance and repairs on overhead cranes and related equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in heavy industrial settings.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers on installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Conduct safety inspections as per OSHA guidelines.
• Perform scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Consult with customers about equipment deficiencies and complete required documentation.
• Document hours and services performed, and write service acknowledgments.
Essential Skills • Proficiency in electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in repair and maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and understand pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Experience with installation and field service.
• Competency with hand tools and preventive maintenance practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications • At least 3 years in an industrial environment or similar military experience.
• Skills in welding, electrical, and mechanical maintenance.
• Experience as an ironworker, millwright, or in facilities maintenance is preferred.
• Team-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license and ability to interface with customers.
• Ability to work various shifts and travel to customer facilities.
• Capability to work in extreme indoor and outdoor conditions and at heights.
