Job Title: Electrical Technician Job Description The Electrical Technician is responsible for planning detailed working procedures, determining replacement needs or new material requirements, and developing a logical approach to address problems. The role involves analyzing circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service, or replace electronic devices and systems.
Responsibilities • Receive wiring diagrams, specifications, and instructions for emergency and scheduled repairs and installation inspection work.
• Perform work requiring thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, and properties of materials.
• Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuits, and similar devices.
• Install, repair, and maintain communication cables, power distribution systems, and splice pieces as necessary.
• Fabricate parts if not commercially available using machine and hand tools common to the trade.
• Analyze and make necessary running adjustments, repairs, and overhauls.
• Advise and caution operators and mechanics about potential electrical problems and inherent dangers involved.
• Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment noted and corrective actions taken.
• Install, program, start-up, and troubleshoot PLC and DDC based control systems.
• May work as part of a mechanical team on major installations with other trades such as machinists and pipefitters.
• May perform temporary or long-term repairs in other areas of Plant Maintenance such as pipefitting, HVAC, boiler room, etc.
• Comply with all safety policies, report safety violations, and attend safety meetings.
• Report problems regarding food safety to supervisor or manager.
Essential Skills • Electrical troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
• Experience in assembly, installation, and preventive maintenance
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprint reading
• 5 to 8 years of experience as an industrial electrician
• Experience with 3 Phase Plant Power Distribution systems, motor theory, and PLC controls
Additional Skills & Qualifications • Vocational school or junior technical college training as an industrial electrician
• Formal training in PLC based industrial control systems
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and correspondences in English
• Ability to effectively present information in small group situations
• Experience with robotics is desirable

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $750000.00/yr.
