Production Manager (Chemical Industry)
Role Description:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee our partner's chemical manufacturing operations in South Carolina . The ideal candidate will have a proven background in production management within the chemical industry , with a strong focus on safety, quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Oversee day-to-day operations related to production, quality, technology, equipment, and safety.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve management practices and enhance production efficiency.
• Lead staff development through career planning, education, and training programs.
• Promote company policies and cultivate a safe, compliant, and proactive workplace culture.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and lead 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) management practices.
• Develop, implement, and maintain standardization systems such as ISO9001 and ISO22716.
• Organize and lead meetings focused on safety, quality metrics, and technical performance analysis.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to implement design and process changes effectively.
• Ensure continuous improvement of production site operations and workplace practices.
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimal utilization of production equipment.
• Collect, monitor, and analyze key production data to support informed decision-making.
• Establish and enforce production rules, procedures, and performance assessment mechanisms.
• Coordinate production schedules to meet customer delivery timelines and production targets.
• Support new product development through production trials and process optimization.
• Implement cost-control measures and monitor raw material utilization to reduce waste.
• Lead on-site meetings and ensure seamless execution of tasks assigned by senior leadership.
What You Bring to the Table:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in the chemical industry , with 5+ years in a production management role.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, including production control and on-site management.
• Expertise in cost control, resource coordination, and quality assurance.
• Strong understanding of ISO9001, ISO22716 , and related quality management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
