Overview
Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a Production/Operations Manager to join our Atlantic Region in Reston, Virginia (VA).
Responsibilities
• The Production/Operations Manager is responsible for managing the activities of a Region by efficiently providing the necessary resources to ensure the profitable completion of projects while meeting contract scope, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support project managers in meeting contractual obligations and client commitments
• Maintain effective staff utilization and ensure utilization goals are exceeded
• Partner with project managers and office managers to ensure that production staff is effectively utilized
• Partner with project managers to implement project work planning and financial control on projects
• Support project managers and office managers to ensure workforce planning is undertaken at all levels
• Promote and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures with client servers
• Assist Project managers in meeting client contract requirements with efficient use of resources
• Assist in the management of risk exposure
• Effectively communicate with production staff
• Assist project managers in maintaining excellent client service
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree is required
• 10 or more years of operations, project, and/or production management experience
• Understanding, knowledge and focus on the essential elements of production management
• Willingness to partner with practice to solve other’s problems
• Ability to motivate and give confidence to others
• Decisiveness – willing to take responsibility and risk
• Ability to use logic to solve technical problems on multiple issues at same time
• Ability to communicate well
• Sense of urgency/high expectation of others
• Strong project management skills
• Previous experience in electrical consulting, design and/or power delivery is a plus
