Job Title: Protein Production Unit Technician (PPU Technician)
Job Location: Bogart, GA
Job Duration: 12 Months+
Onsite 5 Days a Week
Potential Schedule: Thurs-Mon or Sun-Thurs
Shift: 8 am to 4.30 pm
Note:
• Candidate working with transgenics animal’s chicken
• 1-2 years GMP Experience Ideal candidate
• Candidates with high school education only: Animal or biotech/biology experience required
• Candidates with Associates Degree or higher: Animal or biotech/biology experience not required although it is preferred.
Manager Preferred coverage is:
Response –
• Biosecure facility
• Sanitization of production area where animals stay
• More of lab environment
• Candidate will work on lot of documentation
• Hatched chicken and transfer and then go to production room - do testing to confirm animal is healthy
• Attention to detail
• Don’t mind if candidate don’t have much exp- willing to learn
Education:
• Fine with high school- some exp needed
• Prefer Associate /Bachelor if they don’t have much exp
Manager Ideal candidate: –
• Option 1 someone with GMP experience 1-2 years and some exp with animal handling
• Option 2 Manu tech from Pharma with no animal handling but willing to work with animals
• Option 3 recent graduates with Bachelor in science who has worked with animals during research, but they should be willing to stay in this role atleast 1 year- comfortable working in GMP
Regular tasks:
• Sanitizing production room
• Artificial insemination
• Hatch chicks
• Collection blood samples
• Remove daily manure
• Monthly health and environmental monitoring
Interview Process:
• 1 video interview & 1 onsite interview
Required Skills
• Manufacturing experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry
OR
• Animal Handling experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry
Position Summary:
• The Protein Production Unit Technician (PPU Technician) will provide daily care and health monitoring of animals; follow standard operating procedures and good documentation practices; organize, clean, and maintain production rooms, supplies, and equipment for egg layers.
• The PPU Technician will support the production facility by working shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
