Job Summary Performs quality review functions and counsels staff in one or more sections of the Radiology department. # Job Responsibilities Performs daily image quality review of all computed and digital images and recommends process improvements. Develops and maintains quality control standards for Radiology after gathering input from the Medical Director. Ensures imaging standards are met routinely by staff. Sends notifications to supervisor, manager and director of staff who repeatedly fail to meet quality standards. Provides counseling and feedback to technologists not meeting quality standards. Provides education in-services monthly or as needed. Works closely with Radiologist in monitoring and maintaining consistent image quality with digital equipment. Ensures all equipment functions at optimal levels. Follows-up with equipment vendor(s) for solutions/improvements. Notifies department management of any significant or repeated equipment failures. Prepares monthly quality assurance (QA) and repeat analysis reports and reviews with management. Presents findings in monthly QA reports in all supervisor meetings, as well as staff meetings. Works with IT representatives to ensure that all information for imaging flows appropriately through all software systems as needed. Qualifications Associate#s degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR Diploma, Associate#s degree or higher in related field required upon hire A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. A minimum of 2 years# relevant experience required RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire AND ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
