JOB TITLE: Family Resource and Youth Service Center Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Federal Program
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, education or another related field.
• Practical experience in program planning, implementation, budgeting, record keeping, and public speaking.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with children, parents, and community members.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To manage, supervise, and operate all functions of the Family Resource or Youth Service Center in accordance with the by-laws and policies set forth by the Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers with the KY Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Owensboro Board of Education
KNOWLEDGE OF:
• Basic computer skills including use of google, emails, websites.
• Early learning and successful transition programs
• Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
• Academic achievement for student’s preschool-12 th grade
• Short and long-range planning techniques applicable to area of specialty
• Record-keeping skills
• Oral and written communication skills
• Laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
• Meets every other month with FRC/YSC Advisory Council for reporting, approval, and updating progress of the program.
• Develops and maintains a program with goals conducive to effective learning.
• Develops and prepares for programs/activities for students and parents.
• Encourages students to set and maintain high expectations.
• Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Develops program objectives to meet the goals of the FRC/YSC..
• Maintains complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and Board policies.
• Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms through appropriate parent teacher conferences.
• Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
• Establish a comprehensive referral process from the FRYSC to appropriate community agencies/resources.
• Serve on appropriate community boards and school committees.
• Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all students.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
• Represents the school in the community effectively and in a positive manner.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and act as a positive role model for kids.
• Demonstrate a desire to see all students learn and succeed.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Responsible for professional growth in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Abides by the Professional Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified School Personnel.
• Adheres to the requirements of any District or school employee handbook, Owensboro Board of Education policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare and assist in preparation of reports, records, budgets, and other documentation as required by the Division of Family Resource and Youth Services Centers.
• Transport students as needed to various appointments via school board vehicle.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor, environmentally controlled. Typical office environment including but not limited to telephones, personal interruptions, background noises. Will require working with or near the public, parents, and children and will be subject to sounds, scents, and other related environmental factors. This position will require dealing with conflict and requires use of sound judgement. This position will require working outside making home visit during the winter and summer months.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Classified Evaluation Plan. The evaluation will be conducted by the Principal.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Classified salary schedule for Family Resource Center/Youth Service Center-based on experience
• Classified employee
• Certified benefits package
• Annual salary $46,378 - $59,341, contingent on verified education and experience
• Participates in Kentucky Teachers Retirement System (KTRS)
• FLSA Classification: Exempt
• Contract Days: 240
