We primarily manufacture and overhaul components for the transit industry (subway and commuter rail). Benefit coverage begins on day 1!How will you make a difference?As a member of the Transtech, you will be responsible for support and promote continuous improvement activities at the site, by the implementation of improvements at any process, workstation or operation, designing, prototyping and implementing solutions to reduce or eliminate the different type of wastes, also provide technical support to employees in the wastes detection, ideas generation and the individual implementation of solutions.What do we want to know about you?· Highschool degree, Technical degree preferred.· Knowledge of manufacturing controls and continuous improvement methodology are required.· Strong Lean experience· 1 year general mechanical technician or operator· 5S application.· Manual tools handling· basic mechanical and carpentry· basic lean tools· Material Handling and Inventory experienceWhat will your typical day look like?· Promote and lead the employees ideas generation and execution thru the kaizen ideas program.· Design and create technical and practical solutions, towards the wastes elimination at all the operations.· Participate actively at the continuous improvement activities, such as lean transformation activities, kaizen events, lean projects or any lean initiative at the site.· Support al the areas at the site for 5 S program implementation and improvement.· Follow and prioritize the support the teams at the site for EHS requirements.· Report lean results and benefits resulted by the role activities.· Execute, follow up and track the lean activities per supervisor or department responsible, by visually documenting progress of the activities.· Design, prototype and Implement hands-on improvements such as devices, tools, fixtures, gages, equipment, jigs, etc. as a part of the continuous improvement activities.· Maintain clean, organized and safe area at their own working area, space or shop.· Be flexible on 5S activities to support areas, such as cleaning, organizing, painting, labeling, auditing, improving, etc.· Keep in good conditions all the tools, equipment, PPE and all the resources used for the continuous improvement activities.· Report and ask for any resources, materials, tools needed for the continuous improvement activities,· Promote and lead the team work at all the areas at the site, respecting people ideas and the appropriate work environment.· Attend continuously lean tools training and preparation at site.· Always look for the practical application of lean tools according to the preparation provided at areas or process required. (such as: 5S, visual mgmt, VSM, std work, kanban, Ergonomic, etc, towards wastes elimination)· Be open for any task, job, oar any other assignation related to operations support per business direction.· Define, track, document and share the impacts on metrics and all benefits resulted from the continuous improvement activities described per responsibilities in this role. Able to share as well the progress of the main activities per supervisor or leader direction.· Post and update any lean communication board, screen or visual tools at site per supervisor or leader direction.What about the physical demands of the job?The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
