Sr. Polymer Chemist
HTI is seeking a technical Sr. Polymer Chemist for a large, international chemical manufacturing company in Greenville, SC. This position will be focused on setting up processes for new products being brought in to scale up in manufacturing. This position is direct hire and the working hours are Monday-Friday, 1st shift . The salary range is $95,000 - $120,000 depending on experience and education. Relocation assistance is available for candidates located outside of the Greenville, SC area.

What You Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry ( Masters or PhD is preferred )
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably setting up new processes and scaling up for production
• Experience in polymer chemistry or polymer manufacturing
• Proven manufacturing process problem-solving experience in a plant environment is essential
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Technical Writing experience is preferred
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
What Your Role Will Look Like:
The Sr. Polymer Chemist will apply scientific principles and techniques to develop, optimize and scale up chemical processes to produce high-quality products. The chemist will assist in the scale-up of new products, offer technical support to customers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of current and future technologies.
• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of production processes, equipment, and operations to troubleshoot and oversee technical aspects of manufacturing.
• Analyze and resolve technical challenges in production processes.
• Serve as a liaison to customers, addressing inquiries related to processes, technology, raw materials, logistics, quality, and safety.
• Collaborate with production, QC, QA, and CS teams to investigate customer performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Continuously evaluate, refine, and enhance chemical processes, focusing on safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Supervise and monitor plant trials of new products and technologies.
• Manage and assist in validation activities for new product introductions and process improvements.
• Provide guidance to R&D and QC teams in the development and optimization of analytical methods.
• Facilitate the transfer of new technologies from R&D to production, ensuring a seamless transition in manufacturing processes, analytical requirements, raw material sourcing, and equipment cleaning.
• Conduct technical training for employees to enhance their knowledge of processes and technologies.
• Analyze process and QC data to identify trends and assess cause-and-effect relationships.
• Provide technical support to sales teams and customers regarding product specifications and performance.
• Participate in technical meetings focused on manufacturing, product quality, and production efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with FDA/cGMP and all applicable quality standards.
• Uphold and promote OSHA safety standards throughout the facility, fostering a culture of safety awareness and adherence.
