What Impact You’ll Make
As a member of the Advanced technology Combustor Team, you will be an active contributor in delivering quality Micromixer and dry low emission premixer products that works on both natural gas and hydrogen fuel across the platforms and differentiate GE Vernova from its competition. As a lead mechanical design engineer, you will be empowered to design and create solutions for the most advanced and highest performing combustion systems on the market.
What You’ll Do
• Design premixers based on micromixer and swirl technology for combustion systems using hand calculations, 2D and 3D Finite Element Analysis (FEA), component and rig testing to meet design requirements.
• Design liner, impingement and other rig components for single nozzle rig
• Good understanding of fundamentals of mechanical design, heat transfer & direct metal laser melting (DMLM) fabrication technology to drive design decisions.
• Drive quality of our products through completion of design stack ups.
• Work cross functionally with Manufacturing, Repair, Design and Supplier Quality organizations to meet schedule commitments and deliver high quality products.
• Implements lean and continuous improvement to engineering tasks.
• Lead the execution of lab tests and field tests to validate analytical assumptions.
• Proactively and effectively communicate project specific progress and schedule/technical risk.
• Documents work clearly and effectively and presents work in formal and informal reviews.
What You’ll Bring (Basic Qualifications)
• Minimum 4 Years of mechanical design experience
• Batchelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college; or relevant experience that would be equal to a bachelor’s degree.
What Will Make You Stand Out
• 2 years or more of combustion design experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or closely related engineering discipline
• Demonstrated ability of mechanical design of parts in high temperature environment
• Demonstrated ability to perform durability analysis with commercially available finite element software
• Demonstrated capability in collaborating with different teams such as aero designers, CFD team members and working with in a team environment
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Manufacturing and Additive experience
• Experience in the latest version of Unagraphics software, and an advanced programming language such PYTHON
The base pay range for this position is 88,600.00 -147,600.00 USD Annual . The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% bonus.
