Coordinator for Student Ministries

Position Summary: The Coordinator for Men’s Student Ministries aids the Associate VP for Student Ministries within the Department of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement (CMSE) in fostering a campus community that intentionally nurtures the Christian spiritual health of the NGU student. This position plays a key role in helping develop transformational leaders for church and society through the services and programs provided within this area of the department. This person is expected to live in accordance with a Christian code of conduct and take a Christian discipleship orientated approach to the role. This position is a 12-month, full-time, with benefits position that reports directly to the Associate VP for Student Ministries and works closely with the other Student Ministries coordinators. Due to the frequent need to be available after normative University operating hours, the coordinator is required to live in on-campus housing.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the operational management of BCM ministries and its student leadership teams, alongside the Student Ministry Coordinator female counterpart and Coordinator for Mobilization.
• Strategize for, lead in, and measure wide-net evangelism efforts on campus.
• Assist in the planning, direction, ministry facilitation, training, and holistic care with the programs and initiatives housed within Student Ministries.
• Plan and oversee large student ministries events (e.g., Freshman Night Out, Converge).
• Plan and oversee gender-specific ministry endeavors.
• Shepherd student leaders.
• Manage and supervise Graduate Assistants for Student Ministries as assigned.
• Work closely with the Associate VP of Student Ministries and the other Coordinators for Student Ministries to develop a cohesive ministry plan that seeks to develop as many transformational leaders as possible.
• Foster and oversee student-to-student discipleship and accountability initiatives.
• Assist in the management of the CMSE Graduate and Undergraduate SLT Program.
• Attend chapel to engage with students and oversee student participation.
• Complete short-term projects assigned by the AVP of Student Ministries.
• Partner with the South Carolina Baptist Convention BCM leaders and initiatives.

• Lifting, Pulling, Pushing: Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position is a full-time position in Campus Ministries and Student Engagement and reports directly to the AVP Student Ministries. This position works closely with all other coordinators in the CMSE department along with the main operation areas of the University.
WORK SCHEDULE
The Office of Campus Ministries and Student Engagement is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Summer hours may vary. Office hours are subject to change as deemed necessary. Occasional work on Saturdays and evenings may be required.
TRAVEL
Some travel may be required; however, most travel will be within regional proximity to the NGU Tigerville campus.

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 3 years prior applicable experience preferred.
• Ability to professionally evaluate difficult circumstances, address conflict in Christ-centered manner, manage emotionality well. Exhibit healthy work-life boundaries and balance.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve with frequent interruptions.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; experience with database use preferred.
• Understand and comply with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
• Integrates Biblical standards within all assigned responsibilities and approaches student engagement from a Christian, ministerial approach.
• Ability to develop and maintain healthy relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to think creatively, improve current processes, and develop new initiatives.
• Desires to live beyond the job description to better the NGU community through Christian service and discipleship.
• Demonstrates a desire to seek excellence in all they do.
• Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by his supervisor.
