Financial Reporting Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION
A client is looking for 2 financial reporting specialists to join their team. This individual will support the Controller/Assistant Controller in the process of producing accurate and timely financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and annual budget. This role will have an emphasis on reinsurance or insurance at a minimum.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Property and Casualty Insurance Industry experience preferred including in-depth understanding of industry specific accounting rules and regulations and statutory accounting practices.
• Strong conceptual understanding and practical knowledge of GAAP.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office-Excel and Word.
• Strong general ledger experience required.
• Strong knowledge of financial information systems - excel, access data base (plus)
• Ability to take ownership of assigned areas and projects, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
• Must be able to interface effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel.
• Attention to detail; strong organizational skills.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
